How do warranty, maintenance, and RMA requests differ?
Warranty applies when hardware has a covered defect during its applicable warranty period. According to the October 2026 pricebook, Scantron Score, iNSIGHT 4ES, OpScan 4ES, and iNSIGHT 700c have a standard 12-month Central Exchange warranty, while the iNSIGHT 1500c has a 90-day onsite warranty. The warranty period begins on the date of shipment.
Maintenance is ongoing service intended to keep scanners operating and address equipment service needs. Secur-Serv's current maintenance offering includes onsite and depot service, and internal discussions clarify that its scope is physical maintenance/repair rather than general product training or software/user support.
RMA is the operational process used when hardware may need to be returned, repaired, exchanged, or replaced. An RMA should not automatically mean a new scanner. The recent customer-experience discussion specifically identified technical diagnosis as necessary before deciding that a scanner is defective or should be replaced.
